Watermelon is one of the main foodstuffs of the Cameroonian population. Water melon is a drug for the urinary system, in addition to its refreshing qualities, it is recommended for the treatment of urinary track infections and renal failure. Because of its low sugar content, it is highly suitable for diabetic patients. Watermelon can be cultivated all year round but the most appropriate season remains the dry season. Watermelon does well in sand/muddy soils, wet but well irrigated soils rich in organic and nutritive matter.

F1 Koloss
The rustic plants with a rapid growth of this F1 hybrid variety ensure an abundant early production even in difficult conditions. With blocky shape, the 9 to 10 kg fruit is light green with dark green stripes. Its sharp red light but thick skin preserves its taste for a long while after harvest. Variety resistant to vascular Fusarium race 1 of water melon. Its average yield is 80 to 100t/ha.

Kaolack
Very popular variety in Africa for its average output (55t/ha) and its plasticity. A fruit of 5 to 8 kg, very round shape with medium green stripe. Of very good post-harvest shelf conservation capacity and long distance transport. This variety is appreciated by the consumers for his medium red, crispy and sweet flesh. It is disease tolerant.

F1 Uranus
Original variety with yellow sharp flesh and high sugar content (12°Brix). Its average yield is 44 t/ha. Its fruit of 4 to 5 kg is round, medium green background, and dark green stripe. This variety is resistant to Fusarium race 1 and to red Nuille.
